After clicking Update Device on Windows, your ChonkerKeys may encounter some driver install problems because of Windows' handling of the ChonkerKeys bootloader drivers. This can cause your device to become unresponsive during and after the update. Depending on the time during which the driver updates occur, your ChonkerKeys may or may not be recoverable.

To attempt recovery of a bricked ChonkerKeys, follow this guide.

  1. Unplug your ChonkerKeys

  2. Open the ChonkerKeys app and access Settings using the top right corner

  3. Select your ChonkerKeys model from the dropdown menu above Recover Device

  4. Click Recover Device => Recover

  5. Plug in your ChonkerKeys within 5 seconds. You can try as many times as needed to meet this timing window.

    1. Wait for the device recovery process to complete. The ChonkerKeys app window should indicate that a flash is in progress and a cmd window should appear in the background as shown below

    2. If you're sure that the timing window has been met but the ChonkerKeys app does not initiate a recovery, please contact our team using the bottom right widget to organise a replacement.
