After configuring your ChonkerKeys and clicking "Update Device", the app should progress through each stage of the update process. The "Compiling your customized firmware" stage should take about 20 seconds. During the "Flash firmware to your ChonkerKeys" stage, a window will appear in the background if you use Windows. This is normal.

If this whole process takes longer than 60 seconds, please follow the steps for your Operating System below and reconfigure your ChonkerKeys.

Once the update is complete, your ChonkerKeys should reappear in the configuration window shortly.

If your ChonkerKeys does not reappear within 10 seconds of seeing the "ChonkerKeys not connected" screen, try unplugging and replugging your ChonkerKeys.

If your ChonkerKeys did not update to your desired configuration, try:

For Windows:

  1. Unplug your ChonkerKeys

  2. Find the ChonkerKeys app icon in the taskbar. If the ChonkerKeys app icon is not immediately visible, click the ^ icon and see if it appears in the popup menu

If the icon does not appear in this menu, skip to step 4

  3. Right click the ChonkerKeys app icon and click "Quit Chonkerkeys"

  4. Open the ChonkerKeys app again

  5. Plug in your ChonkerKeys

  6. Reconfigure your ChonkerKeys, click "Update Device" again, and see whether it was updated properly

For macOS:

  1. Unplug your ChonkerKeys

  2. Find the ChonkerKeys app icon in the top menu bar.

  3. Click the ChonkerKeys app icon and click "Quit ChonkerKeys"

  4. Open the ChonkerKeys app again

  5. Plug in your ChonkerKeys

  6. Reconfigure your ChonkerKeys, click "Update Device" again, and see whether it was updated properly

If your ChonkerKeys still does not update properly, try restarting your computer and repeating steps 1-6 for your Operating System.
